This Civil War puzzle, manufactured by Pomegranate is the perfect gift for you to give to any history buff. It is a copy of a painting that was executed in 1865 by Norwegian artist Ole Peter Hansen Balling (1823-1906) and the original painting is on display at the National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. It is the largest protrait in the collection, measuring a staggering ten feet by sixteen feet. The painting contains renditions of Generals from the Union Army from the war between the states. The generals include the only known portrait made of George Custer during his lifetime.
Our jigsaw puzzle rendition will keep you busy for quite a while with the challenge of matching the right general to his uniform and horse. It is a much more manageable size that the original and will measure 29" x 20" when finished.
